What money is used in Samui?

Samui is located in Thailand so therefor the main currency used in Samui is the Thai Baht. Most shops and restaurants will only accept this type of money in Samui so be sure to change your money into Thai Baht once you arrive in Thailand. You will generally get better exchange rates at banks in Thailand then if you were to change the money into Thai Baht back in your home country.

If you have Euro's or US Dollars then you can often pay with that at your hotel or resort and some other businesses in Samui might also accept foreign money and this would include probably all tailor shops on Koh Samui but please be warned that you will end up paying more in a foreign currency as opposed to what you would pay in Thai Baht.
