Can you get married on the beach in Phuket?

Absolutely - please have a look at a blog that I have written about couples who did - http://timinphuket-weddings.blogspot.com/ - there are some who chose a traditional Thai ceremony as well here.

Well I have to answer that question with both a yes and a no. What is certainly possible is to have a symbolic wedding ceremony on one of the beaches in Phuket. In fact many Phuket wedding planners do offer such beach weddings to their clients as do many of the larger and more luxurious Phuket resorts and hotels.

However the wedding ceremony itself would not be a legally biding wedding. For a legally binding wedding in Thailand you will have to go to city hall and get married in front of a government official. Please note that in some countries a marriage in a church would be legally binding. In Thailand many people have a Buddhist wedding at a local Buddhist temple. Although it is a very nice event to be involved in, the actual wedding is not seen as a legally binding wedding / marriage.
