Do You Have To Wait an Hour After Taking Eutroxsig Before Eating?

I started Eutroxsig three weeks ago, stating at half a tablet 25 micrograms for two weeks, currently on 50 micrograms for two weeks then 75 for two weeks and finally 100 for life.  I was told that I should take on an empty stomach and wait for an hour before eating or else take three hours after eating. I am taking in the morning and then waiting one hour before having breakfast, this is upsetting my stomach and I want to know if I have to wait the hour or if I could have something sooner, my stomach has always been easily upset by medication.

The best time to take Eutroxsig (levothyroxine) is with an empty stomach 1/2 to 1 hour before meal. I advise that you take this before your breakfast. Did you know that one side effect of this drug is diarrhea? Your stomach upset could be the cause of taking Eutroxsig. If this still persists, I advise that you ask your doctor for other drug options for your thyroid problem.
