Is Bali a safe travel destination?

That is really not an easy question to answer. The people of Bali love foreigners because of the tourism industry and all the money and jobs which it generates.

I used to work in Bali in 1997 and I had a splendid time there. If you had asked me at that time whether Bali was a safe travel destination or not then I would have most definitely told you that Bali is a safe destination.

However since then a lot has happened in Bali including bomb attacks which killed many foreigners and this has affected the tourism in Bali a great deal as considerably fewer tourists and travelers are now visiting the Indonesian Island of the Gods. However it has been some years since the last bomb went off in Bali so I guess it would be fair to say that Bali is a safe travel destination nowadays.
